Fighting spam

E-goi is a permission-based e-mail and SMS marketing tool that follows the strictest anti-spam philosophies:

  1. Communications: By accepting the E-goi  Terms of Use, E-goi users agree that their opt-in form, sheet or page must clearly state the reason for collecting the subscriber's e-mail address or mobile phone number and the intended purpose for that address or number. Additionally, E-goi users agree to comply with the E-goi Anti-Spam Policy and Privacy Policy.

  2. Removal: Every message delivered by E-goi contains an unsubscribe link providing for automatic and immediate opt-out from the sender's distribution list. E-goi also allows users to directly remove e-mail addresses and mobile phone numbers from lists upon request by any subscriber. If you wish to remove your e-mail address from one or all mailing lists currently being used by one or more E-goi client, please contact us.

What is spam?

Spam is unsolicited bulk e-mail.

E-goi defines spam as:

  • Mailing lists purchased or otherwise obtained without the consent of the addressees included therein.
  • Mailing persistently delivered to recipients who have requested to be removed from the list.
  • Adding recipient e-mail addresses or mobile phone numbers information into a list without the recipient's permission or a previous opt-in subscription.
  • Messages sent to e-mail addresses or mobile phone numbers harvested from the Internet or from physical records.
  • Messages sent without a valid link for recipients to opt out or request that future mailings not be sent to them.
  • Messages that do not have a valid e-mail address in the "From" header.
  • Messages promoting contact databases for sale or the renting of such databases without prior written consent by those contacts.
  • Messages containing any false or misleading information in the header, subject line or message body.
  • Messages carrying and promoting adult themes and explicit sexual content.
  • Messages inciting racist and discriminatory behaviour.
  • Messages promoting any illegal and fraudulent activity.

E-goi does not qualifiy the following as spam:

  • Messages sent to recipients who have opted in to receive those messages from the sender or the sender's organisation, provided that the organisation offers a way for the recipent to opt out of future mailings and that the recipent did not previously opt out.
  • Messages sent to recipients who have agreed to receive information or promotions from a partner organisation, as long as there is a clear, valid opt-out link.

E-goi conforms strictly to a consent-based approach to mailing

Under this policy, any message sent by E-goi must have been sent with the prior consent of the recipient. If this condition is not met, the message is classified as spam.
