There are a number of crucial hints and tips to remember when providing email
marketing information, according to one industry commentator.
Writing for ClickZ, Jeanniey Mulllen explained that first and foremost,
businesses should understand why their customers are signing up for regular
email alerts.
They should always use" intrigue rather than incentive" to track consumer
behaviour, run subject line and content tests, analyse the information they
record and use social media to increase viewing rates.
Ms Mullen also urges email marketing professionals to use web designers where
possible, include clear calls to action, and keep important information above
the web page fold.
On the other hand, marketers should never assume any particular technique
works, overcomplicate the creative aspects of messages, or send too many
messages.
Making the subscription process too complicated is also a no-no, as is trying
to do too much with a single email or sending messages too infrequently.
