I subscribed to the newsletter of an online bookshop. As well as the newsletter, they sent me excerpts from the new book, Dusk! Two weeks later, I received a discount on the book. I'd enjoyed the excerpts so much I bought it immediately!

How this is achieved in E-goi
 With E-goi it is easy to send follow-up campaigns (auto-responders) to a particular subscriber based on the date on which they subscribed to a newsletter.

Just define a welcome message to be sent to the subscriber immediately after subscription. This message could include the first excerpt from the book “Dusk”.

Then all you need to do is prepare the subsequent campaigns. They will all be launched sequentially, based on the event “Subscription date” (the date of subscription to the newsletter). The first of these campaigns, containing another excerpt, can be activated for instance three days after the subscription date. The second, with a new excerpt, after six days. The third, after nine days. The final message, scheduled for twelve days after the subscription date, will include the final excerpt, completing the first chapter, as well as a promotional offer on the book “Dusk” to enable the reader to finish the story.
The entire sequence of five campaigns will be sent automatically by E-goi in a fully customised manner (addressing the subscriber by name) whenever anybody subscribes to the newsletter.

Later, when six months have passed since subscription, E-goi can send another automatic campaign offering a special discount in the shop to celebrate the subscriber’s first six months as a customer. In order to access the discount, the subscriber can even be required to update his or her details using a short form provided by E-goi, ensuring that contact and billing information and literary preferences always remain up-to-date.

 
Results
These auto-responders after subscription are particularly useful to capture the attention of a simple lead who has just subscribed to a newsletter, turning them into a valuable customer in under two weeks. The excerpts from the book included in the follow-up messages serve to whet the reader’s appetite, maximising their desire to buy the book as soon as they receive the promotional offer in the last auto-responder.

Later, the six-monthly auto-responder provides an effective way of retaining customer loyalty with a customised offer, and ensuring that customer information remains up-to-date. All performed automatically by E-goi, leading to tremendous savings in cost, time and effort in any sales or marketing department.
